A woman expecting a baby is to meet a lot of surprises within nine months of pregnancy. As a rule the future parents are very excited and thrilled the moment they find out that soon they will have a beautiful small creature which will bring new light to their lives. A woman goes through numerous changes in her nine months of pregnancy, which result in transformation not only of her body, but her mind as well. Ever expecting woman experiences certain “side effects” of her pregnancy, which mostly vanish as soon as the baby appears, but have to be dealt with while the baby has not yet been born.

• A pregnant woman is moody. It is perhaps the most common thing that happens to pregnant women. Moodiness may sometimes be that distinct, that one moment she is ecstatic an happy, and the other moment she is deeply depressed. Most often some minor factors are triggers for these mood swings. although in a normal situation they wouldn’t be considered factors at all. The problems with moodiness start in the first or in the third trimester.

• A pregnant woman can be inattentive and absent-minded at some points. It is difficult for her to concentrate on something particular and thoughts just flow by themselves leaving everything else behind.

• A pregnant woman suddenly starts to crave for a new home for her baby or may want to redecorate the existing one with her own hands. Some minor physical work is even useful, but be careful and don’t overdo this.

• A pregnant woman might need a bigger bra even before the child is born. After the birth the breasts may ache, that is why a comfortable bra is absolutely necessary.

• A pregnant woman may notice a slight growth of hair on her face and belly, but this doesn’t last long. Instead, the condition of nails and skin is improved considerably.

• A pregnant woman may have a slight increase in shoe-size because of swelling of feet, but everything will go back to norm.

• A pregnant woman may sometimes have worsening of joint mobility, hemorrhoids, constipation, varicose.

In most cases these symptoms occur only during pregnancy, and in some time after the baby is born everything should be back to norm. Pregnancy should be treated as s wonderful adventure in spite of all the negative side effects. It you are expecting a baby and having severe side effects, you had better consult with a doctor. In any case, any side effect of pregnancy is completely bearable and you have to keep calm if not for the sake of yourself then for the sake of your baby. If you spend all the nine months of pregnancy moaning and growling, you will later regret it, and instead you have to make these months unforgettable

My sister is pregnant and has just been diagnosed as have gestational diabetes, and over a small glass of wine (perhaps her last) she has been telling me of all the foods and tasty things she now needs to avoid.

Crikey - it doesn’t leave much. Fortunately, gestational diabetes is not the same as Type 2 Diabetes, and tends to go away once the little one has arrived.

Until then, she is living on rabbit food and chicken and having to exercise that she would not otherwise bother doing - bleaaghh!

I really feel sorry for those people who have type 2 diabetes, there is no cure and it doesn’t go away, so a boring diet may be the least of their problems.

Pregnancy is undoubtedly the most important period of any woman’s life, as the ability of having children is our greatest privilege and gift. To ensure that your baby will be healthy and happy you should think of changing some of your habits at the time of pregnancy. You can turn nine months of this time into total pleasure and happiness if you follow some of the given pieces of advice.

As soon as you find out that you’re expecting, it is absolutely crucial that you visit a gynecologist. The professional will examine you and let you know whether everything goes normally. If any problems occur, it is much better to reveal them on the early stage.

I sincerely hope that the examination will show that everything is alright with you and your baby. After that you are supposed to change your lifestyle completely, at least for the next nine months. You have to realize that you are now fully responsible not just for yourself, but as well for your baby. If you tend to drink alcohol or smoke, you should immediately quit. Cigarettes can make your baby be born weak ant ill, and also they lead to such awful experiences as miscarriage or tubal pregnancy. Any damaging substances in your organism affect both you and your baby, so think twice before you eat or drink anything. Do not deprive your baby of the possibility to be born absolutely healthy and strong!

Now let’s talk about your pregnancy diet. You should refuse some of your eating habits for the sake of your baby. Drink a lot, especially water. Make sure that your diet includes all the necessary nutrients and forget about your weight – eat as much as you feel you should, but try to take meals at the same time every day. You might notice some strange food preferences while pregnancy, which you would normally find abnormal. But do not refuse those cravings, if you suddenly want to eat some sour cucumbers with sugar or something like that – you ha better listed to yourself and do it.

If after all you are worried about your weight during pregnancy, some light exercises will be okay. You had better sleep on your side – this way your baby will be in the most favourable position.

In conclusion I would like to repeat that you should restrain from any alcoholic or narcotic substances while you are expecting a baby. Treat yourself with care, try to relax as much as possible, but don’t forget to do some exercises or walk some miles a day – that is in fact the best thing you can do in order to prepare your pelvis to the future strain. Sleep a lot, breathe fresh air, listen to the classical music and fill yourself with love and care both to yourself and your baby!

It is very beneficial to exercise when you are pregnant. The first thing you have to do is ask your doctor whether it is safe for you to exercise. For most women it is not a problem. You have to make sure you are exercising correctly. Now that you are carrying a baby your normal routine may change. Walking and light weights are safe and effective. If you were not big on exercising before you got pregnant you should start off slowly. Every workout routine should start with a warm up and end with a cool down. Start with five minutes of warming up, then ten minutes of exercise and end with five more minutes of cooling down. You can add an additional five to ten minutes to your routine every few days. Gradually increasing the time you spend working out, helps your body adjust without over doing it and without getting sore muscles. Your routine can go up to thirty minutes to an hour a day. Keeping up your routine is also important. About three to four days a week is a healthy routine to get into. Always remember to cool down before you end your workout. This may include light stretching or walking slowly. Without a cool down you may experience dizziness, nausea, or faintness.

While some people think that housing, government, politics, entertainment, mortgages, banking, philosophy, and religion are among the most interesting subjects of intellectual discussion I believe that the care and education we have about our children and the birth and development of our children, may rank even higher. I, Isaac Robert Toussie, believe that children are our future, and if you pardon my expression, I believe they represent the greatest miracle G-d has ever given us.

It is very important to drink lots of fluids before and after you exercise. Before you begin, you want to make sure you are well hydrated so that you can complete your routine without dehydrating. After your routine a lot of the fluids are lost through perspiration and you want to make sure to replace them. You should also make sure to eat a little more. About an additional 150-200 calories for every half hour of exercising. This makes sure that you do not lose or gain too much weight. The healthy amount of weight to gain when you are pregnant is about 30 pounds. Eating right and exercising are very good for you and your baby. You must be careful not to gain too little, you have to nourish your growing baby and don’t worry if you gain a little more than that, you’ll just have a little more to lose after you give birth.
